Screams from a Car - What's Really Going On?

It was a cold sunny Tuesday morning and I was dropping my son off at school - as we were chit chatting about things that really didn't matter (he's 14 so I was doing most of the talking) my phone chimed- a text message my Love. This one I must answer - the message  "OUR SONG IS PLAYING ON THE RADIO 88.3. OMG... Excitement swept through my body -  the big smile I wear everyday got even bigger.  Scrambling for the radio dial - - - -

The teacher opens the door to the car to let my son out and she hears me screaming - "Is that your song playing on the radio?" she ask - "YES, YES that's my song"! I replied with true joy. "Wow that must be some song." she responds. "OH YES IT IS.. IT IS MY SONG--- LITERALLY - IT IS MY SONG- IT IS OUR SONG- IT IS THE LEVITICUS SINGERS SONG - WE ARE ON THE RADIO OMG!!!" I couldn't hold back the laughter the happiness. "That must be exciting" she replied. My response, " YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT BY HAVE A GREAT DAY!"

What I didn't notice was the other parents looking at me with big eyes and opened mouths. I believe my screams penetrated the windows of my car. My car probably was rocking too with just as much enthusiasm as I. As i began to pull off, others waved and smiled along with me. They didn't know what the screams from the car was about.... I- AND only I - knew what was REALLY GOING ON IN MY CAR!

As I shared with a friend this morning, it is so important to celebrate every moment in your life, no matter how small. Yes, we are looking forward to bigger and better things, but it is only the NOW we have. So why miss what the excitement of "NOW" has - looking for the excitement of tomorrow -which hasn't come.

This weeks lesson: Let your SCREAMS of JOY be heard - let the world know how Good God is to you. After all, if you don't celebrate you, who else will.

If You Are a Story to be Told - Don't let me figure it out - Let it be known

Social media is a platform for people to post pictures and videos of what they have done, what they are doing, or hope to do. What I find interesting is many of them are not really telling the truth in their story. I've posted several blogs about being authentic and being true to who you really are. question for you, When you do not feel like telling your story, will I still be able to open your book and know what your story is?

It is no secret to my readers what my story is. a church girl, a teenage mother, married three times, bulimic survivor, singer, former body builder, educator, motivational speaker, life coach, child of God, woman of faith, one who smiles everyday, shows up everyday and succeeds everyday. This is my story. -  I teach people how to be fit through health and fitness and how to develop a deeper spiritual relationship with God in order to Find Peace Within. There is no trying to figure out what my story is - I live it every day.

I'm not saying there aren't days when I am not feeling 100%. Just this past week, my co-workers kept asking me if I was okay. They all thought I would be on cloud 9 after the release of our CD and music video, but what they didn't know was I had a very, very bad sinus headache and smiling or even laughing made it hurt even more. One even told me to be 'PLEASE BE LOUD - PLEASE".!!!!YOU KNOW WHY - Because at the job, .I make others smile and laugh, Sometimes they have to tell me to bring it down because I bring so much joy and laughter in the office... now she want me to be loud!!!... WHY? -  because I was feeling bad - the story that I tell everyday, did not show up  - now this did not change my story- it just let me know that people look forward to listening  to and or reading my story everyday.

What is your story? Do people have to figure it out, or are you making it known even when you're not talking?

This weeks lesson: Even when you don't feel like telling your story, someone is always reading your book. Just make sure the message in the book is the same message you're giving outside of the book.

Be Blessed

I'm behind the Drivers Seat of My Life- So Why are You in My Lane?

So, I had this amazing experience a few weeks ago. I participated in a women's conference called Brave Heart Women's Conclave hosted by my dear friend Toni Emehel.  Awesome time! But what was so awesome about it was how so many women came out to hear what it meant to be brave and how does it line-up with what God has for their lives. During the altar call, I prayed with one of the ladies and what she wanted from God was for Him to show her what her purpose was. We prayed and I encouraged her and gave her some guidance on how to discover what it is God has designed for her to do.

What I've learned over the years, is this - God created each and everyone of us with a purpose. We all have gifts that others do not possess. They may have the ability to do something that you do. For example, I am a personal fitness trainer, but I do not train like Jillian Michaels or some of my dear friends her in Charlotte. I have my own unique way of training. I am also a motivational, transformational life coach. I do not motivate people the same way Les Brown or Iyanla Vanzant does. Even though we share the same title (for the lack of a better word). I am also a singer, however I do not sing like Yolonda Adams, or some of my close friends her in Charlotte such as Lisa McClendon. However, we all have the title as singers. But what I do have is the ability to do what God has given me to do and only in the way He's given it to me to do.

I am in the drivers seat of my life  so I do not need anyone else in my lane. If you are in my lane, then what's going on in your lane?

This weeks lesson - get behind the drivers seat of your life and stay there. Of course God is always first, but He will not move the mountain for you, he's going to give you the strength to climb so you will know that He is carrying you through it all and when the victory manifest,  He will get all the glory!

Take time to watch this awesome video as it is a good example of what happens when you seek God first and get behind the drivers seat of your life.

Be blessed,
