“Grace for Life!” Eph. 4:29. Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. (allergies ) maybe next week. In this scripture Paul is reminding us to speak what is necessary to help others grow in their spiritual walk. Is it necessary to tell some hard truths…yes it is; but it’s through those hard truths grace is extended. Truth is one of the hardest things to tell. Just this week I was challenged with tellingthe truth about my feelings or holding those thoughts to myself. I decided to tell the truth about my feeling regardless of the outcome. It's important to always consider your motives and to do things with love. God reminds us that we will have to give an account for every idle word spoken. Idle meaning, words that do not edify God or help to empower people. Today’s strength-let your necessary words bring awareness and change to the person who hears it as they grow in Grace/Life. Justice for All! - When Soul and the Cross Meets

Lisa 6:3 - "Liberty and Justification for All!" Romans 5:1-2. Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.

Many of us look for justice when someone has been done wrong. Perhaps, you've been wronged and felt like justice was not given to you. We were all excited to see justice for #George Floyd in the guilty verdict of the man who so brutally murdered him. Did that justice bring #peace to the world. That remains to be seen. But this
I know for sure; when we understand that our sins have been justified by the death of Christ, the justice we receive from that death does bring peace and puts us in right standing with God. All's forgiven and forgotten.

No jury or judge could sentence Christ to death on the cross. He took that one on His own, so that we can have the kind of peace that can only come through the shedding of His blood and have a good relationship with God.

Sure, there will be hard times. Sure the justice that we seek here on earth may not come the way we like. But as Christians and children of God, our lives are filled with trouble, the Bible says that. But yet we are growing in Christ (becoming more like him) At one and the same we have the status of kings and the duties of slaves. We feel both the presence of Christ and the pressure of sin. We enjoy the peace that comes from being made right with God, but we still face daily problems that often help us grow. These facts of life does not take away the justification we received when Christ died for us.

Todays strength, remember peace and justice for all hung on the cross for us all. It is through our faith that peace and justice manifests itself in our lives. Do not be discouraged as you face temptations and problems, instead learn to depend on the power available to us from Christ and lean on the justice that was given to us through His death and the guidance of The Holy Spirit.

Share this word with someone who may not understand, Christ death brought justice for everyone who believes by faith. This has been Lisa with Lisa 6:3. Now, you go make it a wonderful day and a marvelous weekend and I will see you Monday morning. Be Blessed.

One Size Fits All - When Sanctification and Soul Meets

Lisa 6:3 - "One Size Fits All" Hebrews 10:12-

Good morning, good morning, good morning, Lisa here. This is Lisa 6:3 and here is God's strength for you this day. Our scripture reading is coming from Hebrews 10:12-14, "But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified."
Can you imagine giving just one one offering that took care of everything? That's what happened when Christ died on the cross. That one love offering took care of everything related to our flesh. Every thought, every act, every disappointment, and every bad decision. Christ took it all on the cross.
It's not always easy to remember that big act of love and kindness that was done for our salvation. But yet we fall short and often condemn ourselves for falling short. Despite the fact that we do sin, ....because we do sin... "as a man thinketh in his heart so is he...if a man looks upon another as to lust...he has already sinned...as my grandma would say, "tell the truth and shame the devil..." we all sin,-- BUT since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water. If we hold on to the faith that Christ did it all for us we will have the strength to walk in complete freedom from the holds of the enemy.
Today's strength, Jesus purchased one size, one cross, one death, one resurrection for us all. He didn't have to go and give another love offering for ALL of us to be free in Him. Remember as you go through your life, Christ died one time for ALL of our MANY sins, therefore, live life in His ONE size and stop looking for other ways to be free.

Now you go and share this word with someone who may not understand that Jesus paid it ALL... one time.
This has been Lisa with Lisa 6:3, now you go and make it a wonderful day and I will see you in the morning.
Be blessed.

However, Mercy Found Me- When Soul and Mercy Meets

 Lisa 6:3- "...However...Mercy Found Me!" I Tim. 15-16

Good morning, good morning, good morning, Lisa here. This is Lisa 6:3 and here is God's strength for you this day. Our scripture reading is coming from I Tim. 1:15-16 "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the chief. 16 But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense mercy as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life."

Paul speaks of himself as the chief sinner in this verse. Can you imagine calling yourself the chief "the head" of sin? Wow, what a way to view yourself. But Paul did just that. He didn't forget about the man he once was. An accuser of the brethren, a Christian murderer ...However, Christ's mercy found him in his state of sin and offered mercy to him and he accepted.

I know most Saints want to act and or believe they were never the Chief sinner, but we are all sinners, saved by grace. Everyday we make a conscious decision not to be the chief and submit our will to The Lord. Are we still saved? Yes, we are...HOWEVER, we take on the sufferings of Christ in order to show the world the mercy's of God. Jesus was tempted on every side...HOWEVER, He took on sin for us so we can live.

Today's strength, let your HOWEVER, be the cause to suffer for Christ so He can reign in your life for all the world to see. No, suffering isn't easy, but to be like Christ, we take on the cares of Christ. When you suffer, you gain eternal life. Accept Christ today for your HOWEVER.

This has been Lisa with Lisa 6:3, you share the word of God with someone today who perhaps doesn't understand their HOWEVER. Now, you go make it a wonderful day and I will see you in the morning. Be Blessed. #blessings #diedaily #salvation #peace

Lisa 6:3 - Phil. 2:12-13- "Get a Salvation Pedometer and track your Walk"

Good morning, good morning, good morning, Lisa here, this is Lisa 6:3, and here is God's strength for you this day. Our scripture reading is coming from Phil. 2:12-13 "Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose."
In this verse of scripture, Paul is reminding the church that they have to work (be active) out their own salvation (to be set apart) with fear and trembling. Yes, Jesus died on the cross for our sin, but it doesn't stop at His dying. We too must die. Paul also said we die daily to the things of the world, therefore, we take on the same suffering as Christ. Dying has never been easy for anyone.
How's your salvation walk routine? How many salvation steps will you take today? What walking trails will you take toward building up salvation strength?
Today's strength, get yourself a spiritual pedometer (it tracks your steps) and start tracking the number of steps you're taking towards being that light of salvation that world so desperately need. Someone needs to see you walking.
Share the word with someone today, perhaps they don't even understand what salvation means. You be the one to take them on a trail that will actually lead them to a better way of life.
This has been Lisa, with Lisa 6:3, now you go and make it a wonderful day and I will see you in the morning, Be Blessed.

Don't Play With Me! - "When Soul and Destiny Meets"

Lisa 6:3 - "Don't Play With Me!" 2 Kings 4:8,14-17. The Shunamite Woman. Sometimes we look at a situation and say there is no way what you're saying is going to happen. ---- sooo we don't even put forth the effort to try. But how will you ever know it can happen if you don't try? The Shunamite woman was told by the Prophet Elisha, she would conceive a son by HER HUSBAND who was OLD. She said, "Don't Play With Me"... do you not see I'm married to an old man!" Yes, Elisha saw that, but Elisha also knew what God said.

The Shunamite Woman had enough faith in the word of God and in the man of God, she opened herself to her husband and conceived. This is God's strength for you today. Yes, the promise came years ago, but are you willing to open yourself up to the person who has the seed and conceived the promises God has for you? You're never too old to conceive and bring forth the promises from God. This has been Lisa with Lisa 6:3, you go make it a great day and I will see you in the morning. Be Blessed.

The Lord Remembers You in the Time of Famine - When Soul and Restoration Meets

Lisa 6:3 - God Remembers You in the Time of Famine - When Soul and Restoration Meets- The Shunamite Woman's Recovery!

Good morning, Good morning, Good morning, Lisa here. This is Lisa 6:3 and this is God's strength for you this day.

Our scripture reading is coming from 2 Kings 8: 5-6. "Just as Gehazi was telling the king how Elisha had restored the dead to life, the woman whose son Elisha had brought back to life came to appeal to the king for her house and land. Gehazi said, “This is the woman, my lord the king, and this is her son whom Elisha restored to life.” The king asked the woman about it, and she told him. Then he assigned an official to her case and said to him, “Give back everything that belonged to her, including all the income from her land from the day she left the country until now.”

Yesterday I introduced you to the Shunamite woman who believed the Prophet Elisha and trusted God, believing she and her husband would have a son. And, yes, she did have a son, AND, that son's life was restored by the hands of the prophet Elisha.

Today I want to talk about her a little more. There was a famine in the land, in which Elisha remembered the Shunamite woman, her husband and her son. Elisha called for her and told her to take her family and leave the land because the famine would last seven years. Because of her faith in the man of God, she did as he said.

After the seven year famine ended, Gehazi, Elisha's servant, saw her and remembered she was the woman whom Elisha prophesied to and raised her son from the dead. And because of what the prophet did for her the king assigned a special council to hear her case. After her case was reviewed, the king ordered them to give back everything that belonged to her INCLUDING all the income she would have made from her land from the past seven years.

Can you imagine God restoring everything you lost from the past seven years or even from the last year during this COVID-19 Pandemic? Wow. What a blessing that would be.

Just like the Shunamite Woman, we too can be restored because of the words that were spoken over our lives. Sometimes, it's the help who reminds the ones in power about your character. We cannot go about this life alone. God assigns special council to your case and everything you think has been taken away from you can and will be restored. It may take seven years or it may take longer, but when you're found faithful, obedient, and adhering to the words of the prophet, your blessings will find you.

This is God's strength for you today, just like it says in 2 Chronicles 20:20 “Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.”

God is still speaking the same word, Have faith in the word of God, and His prophets. Special council will be assigned to your case and you will be blessed beyond measure.
๐Ÿ๐ŸŒป
That's some good word. Share it with a friend who may feel like all is lost. Remind them of the word from the prophets... have faith and be restored. This has been Lisa with Lisa 6:3, you go make it a wonderful day and I will see you in the morning. Be Blessed #womanpower #meditation #blessings

Grits, Ketchup, and Hot Sauce A meal fit for a king-When Soul and Legacy Meets

January 18, 2021, the family group text went out "hello family, dad was rushed to the hospital and the prognosis does not look good!" We all begin to pray. January 22, 2020, the family group text went out "hello family, it's with a sad heart I must report at 10:30 am Dad has taken his wings to heaven and has passed on to glory!" :(

To everything there is a season so Ecclesiastes 3:2 "A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted." Ecclesiastes 3:20 "All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again." These two verses of scripture are more real to me to day than it has ever been. It's something when it happens to other people, but it's something ELSE when it happens to you.

Yes, my awesome father and dad has gone on to be with the Lord. But the craziest thing is this, I knew in my heart he wouldn't be with us much longer. I went home the weekend before dad went to the hospital to do some cleaning for mom. Mom is 83 and can't quit clean the way she used to. I enjoy cleaning so I do it for them. As I watched my dad walk slowly from his bedroom to the den I was saying to myself; it's not going to be long now. Dad told me that he was tired. When the seniors say they are tired, that means they are tired of suffering and they are ready to go on to heaven.

My mom prepared his breakfast, grits with hot sauce and ketchup, eggs and sausage. He sat at the head of his table like he always does and enjoyed his meal. While eating breakfast, he had a conference call with the church leadership. I listened to my dad as he spoke with the deacons and trustees at his church. Deacon Douglas asked him if he there was something he wanted to say. Of course my dad had something to say, he always does. This is what he said.

"I am sitting here at the head of my table, looking out the window. I'm not sure how many more days I'm gonna have like this, but I thank The good Lord for letting me sit at my table and I don't know how many more calls like this I'll be on. Now, I want you men to learn how to work together and be about our Father's business." That really stuck with me. Again, I knew it wouldn't be long before he would be gone.

As I prepared to go back home, my dad says this to me, "tell your husband I said thank you for letting you come and take care of me and your mom!" I was like okay dad... not really understanding why he would say that as I've come home many times to clean and run errands for them. But this time, there was something different in his voice. I kissed my dad, told him I loved him and he said the same. Two weeks later, he was gone.

My daddy loved his grits with ketchup and hot sauce. LOL. AND so does all the children. We all put hot sauce and ketchup on our grits. I'm not sure why he did it, but if it was good enough for my daddy, then it's good enough for me. That meal is one of the many legacies my dad left with us. All eleven of us!

One thing I know for sure, my dad along with all his ways will be a part of our lives forever. Live like it's your last day, love like you'll never have it again, forgive the way Christ forgives, and like in peace with all men.

Learn to enjoy the simple things in life, much like my dad...have your grits and eggs with some hot sauce and ketchup.

Uncle Frank - When Ma'ma Knows All

Why do you hate me so much? What have I done so terrible that would cause you to not want to be in my presence? What is it so hard for you to say my name or even acknowledge that I exist?

Recently I watched the movie "Uncle Frank" on Amazon Prime. If you haven't seen the movie or don't have access to Amazon Prime, you should think about investing in it, even if it's just to watch this movie. I was curious about the movie "Uncle Frank", because it spoke of a relationship between an uncle and his niece. Uncle Frank was different than the rest of the family. He was smart, intelligent, quiet spirited, and a professor at a college in New York City. That alone, made him interesting to his niece, Beth.

Uncle Frank encouraged Beth to do good in school which would be an opened door for her to attend any college she liked. And she did just that. So, Beth gets accepted at the New York University where her uncle teaches. But what she didn't know was that her favorite Uncle Frank was living a double life and so was his partner.

You see, it wasn't popular to have an opened gay relationship during this time; which lead Uncle Frank to hide his true identity and his relationship. Not until the death of his father. While reading the will of Frank's father, the attorney read what Frank's father thought of him as a gay man. His father was ashamed of him and his lifestyle. His father caught him having an intimate moment with a boy when he was 16. His father, who was supposed to be a devout Christian. He told him he was to never see that boy again and that he and the boy were going to hell. That moment, was the beginning of Uncle Frank's arrested development. He hid his feeing for the same sex for years until he moved away to New York.

Uncle Frank was devastated and felt no one loved him any more. When Uncle Frank hears his mother call his name, the little boy Frank walks into the room and sits on the chair across from him mom. His mother begins to explain to him how his father was afraid of his lifestyle because he didn't know anything about it. In his father's world, that was not acceptable behavior. Frank goes and lays in his mother's lap, much like a child would whose in pain. Hi mommy told him that she loved him and spoke the most profound word, "Ma'ma's always knows!" That was the moment Uncle Frank was waiting for and needed.

He needed to know he was still loved by his mother regardless. Many of us, like Uncle Frank, are hiding because of our lifestyle and the choices we've made. Many of us are ashamed of the decisions we've made and have created a story in our minds that the world will not accept me as I am. But, have we given the world a chance? Much like ma'am. They will still love you.

My message today is this... even if you are scared of being who you are and standing in your truth...give the world a chance. and if the world rejects you.. that's okay too.. if they accept you, that's okay too. At least you're not lying nor are you hiding anymore.

When the truth is revealed, all fear and shame is gone.

  • Remember to always be truthful in your truth
  • Don't lie to yourself about how you think other people feel
  • And remember, you're not alone. As my granny would say, "You're not the first and you want be the last."

Write IT Seven Times - When Soul and Vision Meets

I know many of us have read the scripture, "Write the vision, make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie, Though it tarries, wait for it. Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.- Habakkuk 2:2-3.

I've read this scripture I don't know how many times and have heard in church hundreds of times, BUT, I never paid attention to the number of times the word IT was used; until this morning. I read it twice and the word IT is used SEVEN times. Now, the number Seven is said to be God's complete number. The number of completion. God created the world in SEVEN days... He saw what he wanted and did it in SEVEN days.

Here's my charge to you today. Identify what it is you want, writ it out SEVEN times on your vision wall. If you don't have a vision wall and or board, get one. Remember when you were in trouble at school and you had to write on the board what you did, saying that you wouldn't do that IT again??? Well, now is your time to WRITE on the wall... but this time it want to say what you want do again, but to say what you will do again.

Keep your eyes on the wall and walk it out.

It Runs in the Family

It's really interesting when you sit around the table with your family and see how everyone has their own makeup but still yet similar in many ways. I can testify to that. While home for Father's Day, my sisters and I were talking bout how we are all shaped differently. Two of my sisters are blessed to have nice size breast as the other four of us aren't. then there are four of us who are blessed to hve nice size hips and buttocks while the other two with breast don't. It was funny while we were talking about it because it's a reality in many families. what makes it that way? Well, it's that ting we call GENES.

While genetics are a factor, believing you are destined to be overweight for life because you've inherited "fat genes" is the most dis-empowering and self-defeating attitude you could ever adopt. The only way you'll lose weight permanently is to accept total responsibility for yourself and acknowledge the fact that you have the power to change, regardless what mother nature has give you to work with.

Weight loss drugs do not take the place of diet, exercise, patience and perseverance. You don't have to be a product of your environment or your heredity. But be a product of your own thinking and belief systems. So be positive, be consistent and get moving.

The Choice is Yours

How many of us have professed to be a Christian? Many of us, I'm sure. We try to be cautious of the things we say and do. We're careful in the way we treat people and interact with them. We make sure that the people we come in contact with knows that we're representing Christ. When night comes and it's time to lay down to rest, we pray and ask the Lord to forgive us for the sins of commission (the ones we know of) and the sins of omission (the ones we know not of). But how many of us look at unhealthy food as one of those things that could separate us from seeing the Kingdom of God?

If eating 2 slices of chocolate cake was like back biting, would you eat it? If eating a whole pizza was like committing adultery, would you do it? If drinking a Starbucks Frappuccino (400 calories) was like murdering your best friend, would you drink it? I believe I've gen you enough examples to get my point across.

As funny as it may sound to compare unhealthy food to sin, it's such a realistic look at how we treat our bodies. If we are striving so hard to live a Godly life and make it to heaven, then why do we destroy the temple with the foods we allows to enter our bodies? The word of God says clearly that it is His desire that our souls prosper and that we be in Good Health, III John 1:2. You see, it is His desire that we have a good healthy lifestyle. Now, I know that eating unhealthy is not going to be a factor in us making it to heaven, but I do believe that it can be a factor in how fast we get there.

Don't let an unhealthy lifestyle separate you from having what our Father desires for you. He wants you healthy, rich, and her to enjoy life.

I May Be Cut But I Still Have Life|When Soul and Death Meets

I was taking a walk on our neighborhood trail and came across this huge, beautiful tree that had fallen during a resent storm. Half of the tree was lying in the pond it once stood so gracefully beside and the other half laid on dry land. Severed in the middle so the path could be passable, the tree laid dormant and lifeless. I took a picture of the tree as I  wanted to see what would happen to the tree over time.

Two weeks later I walked the trail again and the tree was still lying there. Half in the pond and the other half on dry land. However, this time there were signs of leaves starting to grow on the part of the tree that was resting in the pond. I took another picture as I wanted to continue to see what would happen to the tree. The part of the tree that was on land had no apparent signs of life.

Two week later I walked the trail again and the tree was still lying there. Half in the pond and the other half on dry land. I thought for sure property management would have cut the entire tree to make if safe for their neighbors. But, no, the tree was still there. As I approached the tree, there was very visible signs of life on the tree that was lying in the pond. At that point I received a revelation. Even though this tree had fallen during a storm, cut in half and left to die, it found life on the other side. You see, the part of the tree that was connected to the pond still had life. The part that was lying on the ground did not.

The part of the tree that was lying in the water had a chance to live because it was connected to the life source...WATER. As time went on and the tree remained connected to the right source, signs of life began to be manifest. This is how our life works when we're connected to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. He is the water that will never run dry. He gives us life when life experiences cuts us off. When we look or feel like we're dying, His blood, (which is the lifeline to the body) gives life to our SOUL. Our spirits are made new again and we begin to live.

What's the lesson in this message? As long as the part of the tree that was lying in the pond stayed connected to the water, it survived. We are the same way. If we stay connected to the spiritual water source, which is Jesus Christ; we will be like the tree planted by the water, we will live as well.

Stay planted and live. :)

Who are you yoked with? When SOUL and Yoke Meets

Matthew 11:28-30 reads, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. "

I've read this scripture for years. Coming up as a child in the church; this scripture was quoted so many time. Walter Hawkins even wrote a song with these very words. But never had I really taken the time to study this passage of scripture to see what Jesus was really telling His disciples, until now.

This past Sunday, my pastor mentioned this scripture and he defined the word YOKE as "the word of God or the teachings of  Jesus. Liked unto the laws of the Old Testament."This sparked a question in my mind, because I had never heard it explained that way. Being a student of the word, I begin to study more about what Jesus meant and if the word REALLY meant what he (my pastor )said. This is why you have to study the word for yourself to be sure you're getting the word the way Jesus intended.

And yes, he was right. In the Greek the word Yoke means, "to be as that of slavery, troublesome laws imposed. A balance, pair of scales." If you've ever seen anything on a scale, you know it's hard to balance them them because either one side is heavier than the other. An uneven scale is hard to carry. Just like a heavy load, it's hard to carry alone.

NOW, I get it. I now understand what Christ meant when He said take my yoke upon you and learn of me. In the Old Testament people lived by the laws God created for them to live by. There were so many rules, most people never lived up to them. There were 613 laws He created in the Old Testament days. No who could ever live by that many laws? We can barely live by the ten commandments and or abide by the laws of the land, not less try to remember and live by 613 laws. So, Jesus came to abolish the laws.

With Jesus, we have Grace and Mercy. Jesus Christ is the law now. What He says is how we live. Take my Yoke = take my words, take me and learn of me, study who I am. Because what I'm asking you to do is easy compared to what the laws and the Pharisees required of you.

This is the good news my friends. Jesus Christs' yoke is easy... Follow Him and Love One Another. :). That's all he requires. Now, that's a yoke I believe I can carry. If we do good, good will follow. Love Christ and Serve His People. I believe in doing this our lives will be filled with the Light of Christ that other's will see and will want to be.

Matthew 11:30 - For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

  • Don't make it harder than it has to be
  • Love God everyday
  • Show Love everyday
  • God will get the glory everyday
  • You'll feel better when you lay down to rest everyday

Don't Give Up, Someone is Listening: When Purpose and Doubt Meets

This week was one of those weeks where I was just questioning why do I write these blogs... Why am I doing a podcast...why am I writing these books. I was just in a place of doubt. I was questioning my call and was I REALLY where God wanted me to be. With those thoughts running through my mind. I began to doubt my purpose. Yelp, Ms. Find Peace Within was doubting her purpose. Even with a smile on my face and spreading joy to others, I was waiver in my own calling.

Then I stumbled upon a WORD. You do know God will send His word in many forms. Monday I was listening to some podcasts, many of them were just random podcasters; some I knew and some I was listening to for the first time. As I surfed the Podcast world, I decided to listen to Oprah's Super Soul Sunday podcast. I chose the latest one with Dr. Edith Eva Eger, PhD, a 90 year old Holocaust survivor. She and Oprah had a very intimate conversation about her journey through the Holocaust and the message she wanted people to get from her first book; "The Choice". This is when God spoke, Oprah asked her the question, "What do you want people to get from your book?" Dr. Edith said, "I want people to FIND PEACE WITHIN!"

I almost fell out my seat. I couldn't believe she said that... Find Peace Within. That's my ministry... that's the message I want the world to get from my writings.. that's the message I want people to get from my books, from my blog, from my podcast. I said "Thank You Lord for giving me yet another message of hope... A message of purpose."

Right when I was ready to stop writing, right when I thought my purpose was not what I thought it was... when I was saying what's the point... God sent Dr. Edith Eva Eger through Ms. Oprah Winfrey's Super Soul Sunday podcast the message that I needed that day... I can't give up because someone is listening. ๐Ÿ˜Š

What do you do when Purpose and Doubt meets?

1. Pray and ask God to give you an answer
2. Listen when He speaks
3. Move without doubt

Thank you Dr. Eger for giving me the message to continue to Find Peace Within. I've purchased my book "The Choice" by Dr. Edith Eva Eger... get yours I know it will bless you.

At First Sight-When Love is Blind

Have you ever been so blind to a situation to the point you didn't recognize it even with the brightness of the light? I know I sure have. It's been somewhat eye opening to finally have the ability to see what you've been feeling all these years but still unable to recognize it for what it was. I'm sure I have you to thinking but this is the story behind being blindly in love.

I recently watched a beautiful love story on "Pluto TV" it's a free app you can download on your phone and watch TV live. They show old movies in which I enjoy watching. Anyway, back to my story. There was a movie I watched titled "At First Sight" nope, it's not "Married at First Sight" Life Time's hit show, I love that show as well; but I'm talking about the movie "At First Sight". Let me set it up for you.

There is a young man named Virgil, who became blind an early age. He never regained his eye sight, which meant, he grew up blind. His interactions with life was that of a blind man. In the movie Virgil is a massage therapist. Interesting right, how can a blind man be a massage therapist, easy. You don't need eyes to know how to rub a body and make a person feel good and relaxed. :) One day, the Amy a successful architect scheduled an appointment to get a massage and falls into the han

ds of Virgil (the blind man). They develop a relationship and later become lovers. Amy talks to Virgil about his blindness and asked him had he ever dreamed of seeing again. Hey said, yes but never pursued it. She does some research about a surgery that will give him his eyesight back. At first he was against it, but later he agreed to have the surgery. And yes, he did get his sight back, but this time, he didn't know how to live as seeing man. You see, the world he grew up in was all based on the life of a blind man not one who had learned to see. He struggled with reading as he didn't learn how to read letters, he read braille. He didn't know how to recognize an apple ANYMORE as his way of identifying things was by sight and smell. He didn't know how to walk based on his surroundings as he learned how to walk by counting steps. He didn't know how to identify expressions as he had never seen what mad, love, disappointment or excitement looked like. You see Virgil was living in a world designed for his love Amy. He didn't know how to love and live in a world he wasn't familiar with. His therapist told him he know how to see but now he had to learn how to recognize. POWERFUL. He could identify an apple based on how it felt, but not based on how it looked. WOW.

Amy was very excited, he love could now see. He could now see her face, her body, her expressions. Everything she wanted was now in her hands. However, the man Amy had no longer exist. Amy was very disappointed as the man she feel in love with as a blind man, was not the same man she was in love with as a seeing man.  Amy wanted to show him the world. Take him to Paris, take him to the mountains, take him to the beach, show him her architectural work. One day Virgil's eyesight began to go dim. He knew he was going blind again. He later told Amy about his eyesight. She told him that she wanted him to see Paris, he said all he wanted to do was see a live Hockey game as he was a huge fan and a great ice skater too. She took him to the game and it was there he lost his sight.

She had a difficult time excepting the reality that the man she wanted (one with sight) was not the man she loved (a man without sight). They parted ways and he went back to living his life as a blind man.

But as Blind Love would have it; fate brought them back together in the park. It was at that point in their relationship, they knew they loved each other and walked into their happiness he counting steps as she lead the way.

What's the lesson in this story? The love that we often look for doesn't always come the way we see it. Amy's desire to help Virgil regain his eyesight was something she wanted as she felt Virgil's life would be better if he was able to see. But for Virgil, the life he knew as a blind man was the life he loved, and was living his best life. Being blind didn't stop him from living or loving Amy the way a man with sight would. His Blind love for her was much better than the love she could see with her eye sight.
When Love is Blind

One thing I've learned about loving blind.. the things in life that we think would make the other persons life easier often is the thing that they have no desire to have. With that, it's just easier to let people live their lives, be happy with who they are in how they do life and you just have to make a decision if you want to come along for the walk in the park as one counts steps and the other lead the way.

Oh by the way.. this is a true story. They ARE still๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’“ married today... :)

Teacher Davis - A Life Worth Repeating

May the life I live, speak for me.

Proverbs 31:Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil All the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax. And willingly works with her hands. She is like the merchant ships, She brings her food from afar. She also rises while it is yet night, And provides food for her household. And a portion for her maidservants. She considers a field and buys it; From her profits she plants a vineyard. She girds herself with strength, And strengthens her arms. She perceives that her merchandise is good. And her lamp does not go out by night. She stretches out her hands to the distaff.... Now this is the part I really love. She opens her mouth with wisdom. And her tongue is the law kindness. She watches over the ways of her household...Many children have done well...

Mother. Annie Mae Davis, so affectionately called Teacher Davis by many. We celebrated the life of this beautiful vessel of God this past Thursday June 27, 2019. A life above reproach, a woman of integrity, grace, poise and humility. A Godly woman who touched the lives of so many. From her sweet potato pies, to her care packets. To her encouragement to follow the lead of God, to the guidance one what it means to be and look like a lady. A wife, a mother, a preacher's wife, a first lady, a Bishop's wife, a grandmother, an educator, a woman of influence. She changed the lives of many. Impacted the lives of her friends and family near and far. There was no time to be sad about the passing of this true soldier in the army of the Lord. Standing strong as a help meet and one who didn't look at service as a hardship but as a gift to those who awaited the arrival of her sweet spirit.

After I left the celebration I began thinking about my own life. As you know,  our eulogy is preached while we're still here on earth. I said to myself.."Lisa, that's how you want your celebration to be." Then I asked myself this question...what will people say about me.. Will they miss me, will they speak well of me? Will they speak about my beautiful smile that I shared with the world all the time? Will they speak of the encouraging words I spoke..will they remember that I was a woman of God who loved the word and others? Will they remember me as a loving mother, wife, sister and friend? Will they remember my hugs and kisses that I give so freely? Will they remember that I was there for them when it looked like they were alone? Will my anointing be one that others will want? I pray that my legacy will be as strong as that of Teacher Annie Mae Davis, who was loved by all and missed by more.

We always say life is short after a love one passes suddenly... but do we really think about the life and legacy that we're living today before man... That's not a real question.. just something to think about. So, how do we live a life that's worth repeating. Let me say it the way Teacher Davis would say it to all those who crossed her path.

1. Put God First !
2. Love the way God loves!
3. Give the way God gives!
4. Serve the way God serves!
5. Take no count for tomorrow..today is all we have
6. Leave a smile on every ones face you meet
7. AND remember, what you do today, will be the words that's spoken over your life tomorrow.... when ever your tomorrow comes.

Be blessed and remember to "Live a Life that's worth repeating"  Thank you for your life Teacher Annie Mae Davis. Rest in the peace and in joy of the Lord.

Be blessed

To Co-exist Peacefully- Sacrifice or Compromise

This week I started reading "A New Earth Create a Better Life" by author Eckhart Tolle. One of Oprah Winfrey's well known guest and Super Soul Sunday contributors. In the beginning of the book he speaks about the importance of co-existing and how the ability to compromise is the best way to do such.

I've often thought about the ability to compromise and how different it is from sacrificing. Eckhart Tolle says that when we understand our mental position we are able to tolerate people's beliefs and perspectives. I agree with that statement hold heartedly. However, at what point does sacrificing and compromising for peaceful coexistence become too much to do? What is the difference between a compromise and a sacrifice. In my opinion when a compromise is made it's a win/win situation for everyone. I may not get my way this time but I can live with the decision that was made, knowing the next time, I'll be able to get my way. Do we buy a sports car or a mini van, after all we have 5 kids. Sounds like we're getting a mini van. Then when ALL the kids are out of the house, we'll get the sports car. Sounds like a good compromise.

Now, a sacrifice is when something is given up that is needed with the hopes of one day reaping from the sacrifice that was made. Often times, we make more sacrifices than compromises and get very little in return.

As a mother and wife, there have been many days I've sacrificed going to bed on time to prepare a meal that didn't get eaten. There was no personal gain for me sacrificing that time. I still got to bed late and the sacrifice wasn't appreciated. I've sacrificed doing things for myself to help my husband take care of ministry obligations. Sacrifices like this that occur often, could possibly make co-existing challenging.

I remember complaining to our Father one day while working in the yard. I was going innnnn... talking about everything I do for my family and what I don't get back from them. I asked Him, when will it ever be about Lisa. He spoke clearly to me saying; "Continue to serve your family, and I'll take care of you.' He has done just that. I still make sacrifices even when I don't understand. And my Father has always come through for me.

God tells us that if we give our tithe back to Him, He will rebuke the devourer for our sake. It's because of the sacrifices we're protected from the devices the enemy has planned for us. I've learned to look at sacrifices the same way. What I sacrifice will come back to me in greater ways through my Father God. I do believe it's important to communicate to those who we believe are using us and disrespecting our sacrifices. So, how do we deal with those individuals?

My suggestion is to first:

1. Make sure your feelings are valid.
2. Make your concerns known.
3. Decide how much you're willing to sacrifice.
4. Put a limit on those sacrifices.
5. Don't sacrifice that which will cause you discomfort, resentment or harm.

What's my message today. Learning  to co-exist peacefully does require sacrifices and compromises. Just be sure your compromises do not turn into sacrifices. Because that action will turn to resentment in the end. Next, know that our Father sees every sacrifice and what you sacrifice secretly our Father will reward you openly. Ask me, I know because He's done it for me!
